If I had a star for each lie you gave me
I could create a sky
And be like God
(On a pedestal)
And enjoy my view from Heaven
If I had a canvas for each broken promise
I could be a Rembrandt
Make a fortune by filling a gallery
(My only down fall being the repetitive colors
Representing fallen words of you)
If I had an instrument for each “I love you”
I could form an orchestra
-Write a symphony
And hope you play your radio just right
To feel the regret in my piano solo
But if I had just one minute to spare
I might think twice about remembering you
But, with all my riches
I have enough music to keep me content
Under star filled nights
Where I can be my own Rembrandt
For someone else...
